Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (21) [May 2011 Part 2]

The month of May is rapidly approaching the end and the summer is getting ever so closer. We're all still here. No Doomsday whatsoever. Wahoo. So what do we need to do? Party and get your dance on. Luckily this month has been an overload of great club music and tracks just to bump to. That's why I had to do a second update this month. And we still have a week left. Enjoy the weather while it lasts and party like its 1999 or 2011 whichever you prefer.

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

This is a track that you need to bump to before you head to the clubs. It pumps you up before you get your grind on. Everyone can relate to this track. You hustle during the day and you relieve your stress at night. Ace Hood and Lil Wayne really tears it up and leaves no remains. This would be great as mash up with another track at the clubs.

I really like this track a lot. It's a great slow banger. Very smooth flow and the hook is definitely catchy. This should definitely be on a club/party list.

Now I'm not a huge fan of this song, but I think parts of the song is great at the club. Mash ups and remixes of this song will be played at the clubs. Beyonce always does her thing and this song is definitely for the girls. No pun intended. Still recommend it for most playlists.

This is a great remix with Ludacris and Bun B. This track reminds me of Country Grammar back in the day. Heavy bass and just goin' hard on this track. Big K.R.I.T. definitely has a hit on his hands.

I really enjoy this track by Enrique. He's been pushing more dance tracks lately and this one with Usher does not disappoint. Really anything with Usher in it is almost golden. It's a fun track to dance to. Recommended.

Like the first one this is a great club song. With basically a remix of this track featuring Pitbull it even got better. They added an even faster beat to make the song even crazier. Can't wait for Hangover 2. Oh and download this song if you know what's good for you.

If you want to slow the club/party to a dirty grind this is the song to do it. It's a pretty a good slow banger. Good hook and a smooth flow. A little something from a newer artist. Kafani does his thing on this one.

Haven't heard from Kat Deluna in awhile and I'm glad she's back. And this track is hooooot. This is definitely for the summer nights. The club is gonna be on fire with this one. The bass is perfect and you will need speakers for this. Girls won't stop dancing once this song is turnt way up.

Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home ~ 122 bpm*
Release Date: May 2011

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 2/5
Lastability - 3/5

This song isn't bad, but I'm not sure what to make of Jason Derulo. Is he gonna take other songs from other people and make it his. I haven't really heard anything really original from him. This is definitely catchy, but it's still just okay. Forgettable, but it's just like a summer fling. When the summer is over this is gone.

Killer Mike feat. Rock D The Legends & Twista - Players Lullaby
~ 128 bpm*
Release Date: May 2011

icon

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

This track is a very very slow grinding type of track. But it's good if you remix this song in with another one. But it's for all you peeps who want to set the mood. This song would be good towards the end of the night when things are getting hot and heavy. Twista tears up this song like he usually does. And Killer Mike does what he needs to do.

I continue to be impressed with LMFAO. They keep bringin' the club beats and keep the parties rockin'. This one will keep the adrenaline rush going through the whole crowd. It is best used during the middle of the night and it is great by itself or remixed. Highly recommend this.

Club/Party - 4/5

Like I said there are so many hits during this month and here comes another one by one of the original pussycat dolls. Nicole feat. 50 Cent who I haven't heard for in a min. makes quite a strong comeback. It looks like this is the year where a lot of the artists are trying to make a comeback. Is it because 2012 is almost upon us? I guess we'll never know until it eventually comes. I really like this track. The beat is good, 50 Cent might be back, and Nicole is doing her thing.

A new track from Red Cafe. It sounds pretty good especially with Omarion doing the hook. Not exactly a bumpin' club banger, but mixed right it definitely keeps the party going. I enjoy this track with its smooth beats and its laid back vocals.

I really think that this is the year for Cataracs and Dev. And more trance/techno influenced tracks will be in the top 100 here in the U.S. Another great track from them and I'm hoping for some more. Definitely recommended.

This one is a fun little number. The beat is interesting and it won't be for everyone, but I think it would be good if it was mixed in. Trina does her thing in this track and it shows. Check it out and see what you think.

This song has a more pop/dance feeling. But it is still really good. If your looking to change up your playlist for more variety this definitely could spice it up. I recommend this track. It would be good as a mash up or a mixed in song.

Album Review

3/5

I'm gonna have to say I'm a bit disappointed in this album. I thought her previous album The Fame was much better. That isn't to say there aren't any good tracks in this album. I really enjoy the song "Hair" and I do like "Marry the Night". But overall a lot of the other songs are a bit lacking. And there is only one song I think you could use for the clubs "Scheiße". But it still sounds like her previous songs. Maybe some of the songs have to grow on me. I'll give the album another go, but as it stands now the album is just okay.

Album Review

3.5/5

I tried to give this album a 4, but listening through their whole album I get real tired of their voice real fast. There are some songs that just annoy the crap out of me. And then there are others which are really good. Most of the tracks with The Cataracs and Dev are really good. And then there are other songs I can't listened to fully. I think they need to stick to more slow, poppy, R&B type hits. Once they try to go hard that's when their voices get real annoying. Other than that it's a pretty good album and some of the tracks are well produced.

Some recommended tracks:
