Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (19) [March 2011 Edition]

So here we are in the month of March of 2011 already. Time flies by when your dancing the night away. Well I waited a whole month to update the blog, because unfortunately not many new songs just yet. Again I have faith it will pick up. Especially when we head into the summer of 2011. So here we are some of the latest club bangers I'll be reviewin' for this year.  (Click on the pics for the tracks on iTunes)

Play N Skillz feat. Snoop Dogg - Things We Do  ~ 120 bpm*
Release Date: Feb. 2011

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 3/5
Lastability - 3/5

Now this song isn't really a club banger, but it's a great song for kickin' back. But I wouldn't doubt hearing at the clubs. This is a good song to play when everyone is just haning' out and not in the mood for dancin'. So more like chit chat, kick back and have a Corona type of song. Very catchy.

Recommended for casual playlists.

Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes - Look At Me Now
~ 146 bpm*
Release Date: Feb. 2011

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

The latest track from Chris Brown. This track will be on his new album that will be released later this month. I have to say though that Busta Rhymes tears this track up. Good bass beat, but overall it's an okay club banger. We'll see later this month how Chris Brown's album holds up.

Clinton Sparks feat. DJ Class & Jermaine Dupri - Favorite DJ*
Clinton Sparks feat. Sean Paul, Ricky Blaze & Supa Dups - Favorite DJ II
~ 127 bpm

Club/Party - 4.5/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 4/5

I'm partial to songs that give props to the DJ. Yeah I know, lots of songs give props to DJs. Still gotta give 'em props. This song does not disappoint. It's actually from the TV show Entourage. So this song fits perfectly. There are many versions of this song out. But I'm putting these two on here: Favorite DJ and Favorite DJ II. Both songs have the same hook, but just different artists on them. So depending on who you like more or maybe both you really can't go wrong with either. I recommend this one.

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 3/5
Lastability - 4/5

I really really like this song. And this would be great as a mash up with other songs. I think if you are creative with this song it is a great club banger. Kanye West really gives this song more flavor even though I don't think it needs anymore. Katy Perry does great by herself. A recommended download for sure.

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 2/5
Lastability - 3/5

This song is more for chillin' with your SO. But I feel like it could be a good slow banger. If you could mash up this with other club bangers, then include this in your mix. Overall a very chill song and pretty raunchy as well.

New Boyz feat. The Cataracs & Dev - Backseat  ~ 125 bpm*

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

A new song from New Boyz. Like I said earlier I think The Cataracs & Dev are gonna explode this year. They don't disappoint in this song. It will definitely be played at the clubs and a great party song.

Sebastian feat. Timbaland - Wobbley (Remix)  ~ 85 bpm*

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 2.5/5

The only reason why I recommend this song is, because of Timbaland. Sebastian isn't very good in this song. His flows are too slow and kinda blah. But the beat is pretty good. Still it's a club banger and should be on your playlist.

Travis Porter - Bring It Back  ~ 98 bpm*

Club/Party - 3.5/5

Lastability - 2.5/5

An overall good club banger. You can't go wrong with this song on your playlist. This will get the ladies dancin'. Overall not a very memorable song in the long run though.

This is such a good slow banger. Very sexy and the beat makes you wanna just bump 'n grind. J. Valentine and Twista really makes this track sound good. Highly recommend. Even if you just wanna chill. In fact I recommend his album. Plenty of good songs on it.

Album Review

5/5

I am going to do a quick album review. The album will be released by next week. But you can download some of his tracks right now. Lupe is one of my favorite artists. And this album is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. All the tracks are just really pleasing to hear and he is lyrically gifted. The only club type song on his album is "I Don't Wanna Care Right Now". But it's a pretty good one. Throughout his whole album his songs really do have a "laser" feeling to them. Your just gonna have to listen to the songs to really understand what I'm saying. Each of his songs are so well produced and you can tell how much he put into each song. I can't recommend enough to download his whole album when it comes out. I wish there were more mainstream artists like him.

Some recommended tracks:

Words I Never Said
'Till I Get There
The Show Goes On
Never Forget You
State Run Radio

Highly Recommended.
