Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (20) [March 2011 Part 2]

Finally things are picking up in the music scene. Especially the hip-hop/club banger scene. A good amount of albums have finally dropped. Some good. Some okay. And some blah. But at least its out there for people to hear and critique. As spring is here, summer is oh so very close. And that's when things get crazy again. As we're waiting for things to heat up, here are a quite a few tracks that should keep you hot and dancin'. (Click on the pics for the tracks on iTunes)

Ke$ha - Blow  ~ 120 bpm

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 4/5
Lastability - 4/5

I can't believe I didn't add this track a long time ago. I'm not sure where I was with that one. Oh well. Better late than never. Shout out to Paul for this one. Anyway it will definitely get the club goin'. It has a really good club beat and Ke$ha will be around for quite awhile. Put this in your mix for sure. Even though it was out last year it still can keep the party goin'.

Recommended for most playlists.

Big Sean feat. Chris Brown - My Last  ~ 88 bpm*

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

I really enjoy this song. This is more of a slow banger. The smoothness of Big Sean and the hook with Chris Brown is a really good combination. Again this is more for laid back and lounging around song. But it's still good. And I would definitely recommend it.

Recommended for casual playlists.

Christopher Martin - This Year ~ 85 bpm
Release Date: March 2011

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 5/5
Lastability - 4/5

This is actually one of my favorite songs for this month. It's a R&B/Reggae type of song. It's a really laid back hanging out at the beach type of song. Or just lounging around with your significant other. I really like his Christopher's style and the beats are really smooth. He's definitely and up and coming artist. I couldn't even find this song on youtube and they usually have songs up real fast. But if you love music altogether this is a great song to have in your collection.

Recommended for special playlists.

Album Review

4.5/5

Well... Well... Look who's back. Almost every song on her album can be played at clubs/parties/lounges. Where ever actually. This is a very very strong album from Britney. And I'm pretty sure there's going to be a lot of chart toppers here. There are a few songs that are just okay, but that's few and far between. This is probably one of my favorite albums from her. And I'm glad she's back. She just has to work on her performances now. This new album she is focusing more on dance/techno/heavy bass. Which I think is a good way to go in her career. The whole album is a definite download.

Album Review

4/5

E-40 comes out with another double CD. A grand total of 44 tracks. That is pretty insane. And it's well worth every penny. Always bringin' flava from the Bay Area. With heavy bass beats and sick flows. I do like Graveyard Shift a little bit more than I do Overtime Shift, but both are still very good albums. So you can't go wrong with either or. There are definitely some club bangers on the albums, but I would probably use most of them as a mash-ups or remix them in. A definite download and you better have speakers for these songs 'cause that's the only way to hear them *correctly*.

Album Review

4/5

Even though I give this album a 4/5. I'm still a bit disappointed with. And I'm not sure why. Most of the tracks I recommended I've already reviewed. But the best song on this album for club bangers is Bomb feat. Wiz Khalifa. But you can't get the song unless you download the whole album.  The album does have a good mix of slow jams to dance to Justin Bieber? It is sorta weird for me to listen to the song with Justin Bieber and then a couple of tracks afterwards listen to Wet the Bed feat. Ludacris. I don't know maybe it's just me. The rest of the album is good and I'm pretty sure everyone will find a song they will like from this album.

Album Review

3/5

Snoop Dogg's new album is here and it's not half bad. It's not as good as his earliest albums, but it's definitely better than his previous albums he had. He has quite a mixture of different types of songs with all different types of artists. But there isn't one song that you will remember a year from now. So that in respect the album is decent. There are some tracks that that are just horrible though. And that's what hurts the album. But Snoop Dogg has been around for a long time so I can give him a small pass.
Check it out and see what you think.

Album Review

3/5

I wasn't expecting much from Baby Bash's album. And to be honest listening to his whole album I stand corrected. This album isn't bad by any stretch, but a lot of the songs are very forgettable. Other than the recommended tracks I would skip everything else. Swanananana sounds a lot like Cyclone and Go Girl and Fantasy Girl are old songs by now. The other two tracks I recommend are pretty good songs. But other than that a mixture of forgettable pop songs. This isn't his best album, but you can't go wrong with it. Oh and by the way this is one of the worse album covers I've seen in awhile.

Album Review

4/5

Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. That's what your probably hearing these past few months on the radio. Everyone seems to be remixing this song and making it their own version. Which to shows you how Wiz Khalifa is becoming a bigger star. His album is pretty good and my favorite song on his album isn't even Black and Yellow. It's When I'm Gone. It might not be a radio favorite, but it's definitely mine. All the other tracks are pretty good and I definitely recommend his album.
