Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (4)

I am going to try to put up an iTunes link up for all my Hip-Hop|Club Banger reviews. Another thing I am adding is a reccomendation at the end of each review. So if you like the song just click on the link and you can preview the song and buy it if you like. Keep in mind though not all Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs I review will be on iTunes. So I would suggest that you just Google it and find it that way. Sometimes iTunes can be slow updating their song database. I will be telling you each songs beats per minute just in case your a DJ and/or your mixing songs together.

Radio Play - 3/5

This song has been on the radio, but not played very often. It will be one of those songs that will be some what forgettable.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 3/5

This song would be good in a mix since it features Lady GaGa. Can't really dance to this song by itself though.

The Ladies - 3/5

The chorus is for the ladies, but other than that it isn't.

Lastability - 3/5

It is a good song overall, but not a strong Hip-Hop|Club Banger song.

Recommended for some playlists.

DJ Class feat. Lil Jon - I'm the Ish (Remix) ~128 bpm

Radio Play - 2/5

Not much radio play yet. I'm still not sure if this song will get that much radio play.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 4/5

Even though this song might not get that much radio play, it is a good Hip-Hop|Club Banger. It will get people up and dancin'.

The Ladies - 2/5

Not exactly for the ladies, but will get them up and dancin'.

Lastability - 3/5

Not one of those songs you will remember ten years from now, but it does its job. Plus Lil Jon is in it.

Recommended for most playlists.

Diddy feat. Yung Joc & Xplicit - Diddy Boppin' ~120 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon
Radio Play - 2/5

Not much radio play yet, but since it is Diddy expect it to be on the radio for at least a bit.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 3/5

This song is just okay. Nothing special, but people will still dance to this if you threw it in randomly in your playlist.

The Ladies - 2/5

Not exactly for the ladies.

Lastability - 2/5

A very forgettable song from Diddy. He has better songs, but not many.

Recommended for some playlists.

This is a bonus song I am recommending. It is not exactly a Hip-Hop|Club Banger song, but it is good nonetheless. This would be a good song to mix in. Check it out and see what you think.

Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (3)

I apologize for no posts this past week and a half. I been in the process of moving. Now that I am semi-settled I will start posting up Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs again. I will be posting up six songs this time instead of three.

I am going to try to put up an iTunes link up for all my Hip-Hop|Club Banger reviews. So if you like the song just click on the link and you can preview the song and buy it if you like. Keep in mind though not all Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs I review will be on iTunes. So I would suggest that you just Google it and find it that way. Pitbull - Hotel Room Service ~ 126 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon

Radio Play - 2/5

This is one of Pitbull's newer Hip-Hop|Club Bangers. It hasn't been on the radio too much yet, but it will for sure. He is one of the few artists who makes good Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs consistently.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 4/5

This song has a good beat for clubbin' and partyin'. It will definitely be a hot summer song.

The Ladies - 2/5

This song doesn't really empower the ladies or anything, but I guarentee it will get them up and dancin'.

Lastability - 4/5

Like a lot of Pitbull's songs it will be blastin' in the club for a long time.

Sean Kingston - Fire Burning ~ 123 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon

Radio Play - 4/5

This song has been playin' on the radio for quite some time now. Good amounts of people know this song.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 4/5

This is a good song to mix in with other songs. It will be played at the summer clubs for sure.

The Ladies - 4/5

Sean Kingston is just callin' out to all the ladies. To get up and show their moves. The ladies will like this song for sure.

Lastability - 3/5

It's a good song, but it's not better than his other songs. I think people will remember his other songs more. Still good though.

Kid Cudi feat. Kanye West & Common - Make Her Say ~ 99 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon
icon

Radio Play - 2/5

This song has been hardly played on the radio, but I guarentee by the middle of the summer that it will be all over the radio. Good slower beat.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 3/5

The song by itself wouldn't be a good dancin' song, but if you mix this song with other ones it can be a sick mix. You will hear this song in one form or another at the clubs.

The Ladies - 2/5

More for the guys than the ladies.

Lastability - 3/5

A good song, but not too memorable for the majority of the crowd. But this song is going to be loved by the underground.

Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) ~ 127 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon

Radio Play - 4/5

Another one of Pitbull's songs. This one has been played on the radio quite a bit.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 4/5

It has been played in the clubs and at parties a lot too. Another good summer song for dancin'.

The Ladies - 2/5

Not exactly for the ladies.

Lastability - 3/5

Good summer song, but that's about it. Not too memorable. He has other songs that are better.

Webstar & Jim Jones feat. Juelz Santana - Dancin' On Me
~ 100 bpm
Release Date: 2009

icon

Radio Play - 2/5

This one hasn't been played on the radio and I don't think it will get too much radio play either.

Club/Party/Dancin' - 3/5

I'm pretty sure you will here this at a club, but it isn't a very strong Hip-Hop|Club Banger song.

The Ladies - 2/5

Really not for the ladies or anyone really.

Lastability - 2/5

This song is forgettable. Will be played at the club for a little bit than disappear without a trace.

Danity Kane - Damaged ~ 120 bpm
Release Date: 2008

How to Setup up a Playlist

I am going to give you a few tips on how to make a good playlist for parties. I touched on it in my Music Tips for Parties, but I am going to go a bit more in depth with this one. Like I said in my earlier post cater your songs to the crowd. Setting up a playlist will help eliminate any random songs that might pop up during the party. Also make the playlist a couple of hours before the party. That way you can get a feel for the songs and have ample time to change them if you need to. You will know exactly what songs are playing in your playlist and everyone will be calling you a hero by the end of the night. If they don't than you can call yourself one.

The first thing you need to know is how long you want the party to be. Is it only going to be a couple of hours? Or are you gonna party 'til the break of dawn? On average a good night is around 3-4 hours. More than that and people tend to get bored or are too drunk or too tired to dance. Typically a party lasting from 3-4 hours you want about 60-80 songs on your playlist. Keep in mind that not all of the songs on the playlist will be played. If the crowd isn't feeling some of the songs you chose just skip to the next track.

The type of software you will use to play your playlist on won't matter too much. Whether its iTunes, Winamp, or some other type of software. However, I do suggest fine tuning the software so it can take advantage of the songs. Change the EQ (Equalizer) to dance, hip-hop, or full bass & treble. These settings will put a bit more oomph into the songs. Another suggestion is to add a crossfader to your playlist. A crossfader fades one song out while fading another song in. An example, sometimes at the end of songs there is an empty 5 seconds. If the crossfader is set to 5 seconds it will fade in the next song during those empty 5 seconds. This way you can keep the party goin' without a hitch.

The last thing is choosing the music itself to put on the playlist. Whatever music you choose is entirely up to you. You should know the crowd better than anyone else. But I will give you some general advice. An important tip is put a variety of songs on your playlist. By variety I mean don't just think about the genre, but also think about the years. For example, a typical Hip-Hop|Club Banger party playlist would be something like this. 5/8ths of the playlist would be dance club bangers. These types of songs would get the crowd dancin' and screamin'. This will be the majority of the songs. 2/8ths of the playlist would be for the ladies. These types of songs are from artists like Britney Spears, Danity Kane, Beyonce, Ciara, or Rihanna, etc. The more the ladies are involved the better. The last 1/8th of the playlist will be for slow bangers. Slow bangers are slow club bangers. An example song would be T-Pain - I'm N Luv. A good amount of Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs should also be recent like within a few years. Don't be afraid to throw in some songs in the last decade to mix things up. Once the playlist is made randomize it. After the playlist is randomize it is all set to play. Test it out and get the feel of the playlist. Tweak the playlist if you need to and than leave it alone until the party.

Always keep your playlist updated if you throw parties occasionally. There are plenty of songs to choose from and I will be updating as much as possible so you can have the latest Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs. Now you can be on your way on making a great party playlist.

This song will hardly be remembered in 5 years. It is one of those forgettable Hip-Hop|Club Banger songs.

Music Tips for Parties

Today I am going to give you some music tips to get the party started and keep it goin' throughout the whole night. I have thrown quite a few parties to know what works and what does not work at parties.

Before you even think of the music think about the crowd. Who is going to be there? What kind of music do they like? Different crowds like different music of course. I have been to some parties where no one was feelin' the music. And they just left the place never coming back. You definitely don't want that. So cater the music to the crowd.

Next up, what type of equipment are you going to play the music on? Some of the best parties I have hosted or been to have a DJ. Everyone just seems to like DJs and they are more willing to stick around if there is one. So just ask a friend or go on Craigslist to find one. I don't recommend spending hundreds of dollars on a DJ unless you got the cash to throw it down. You can get a pretty decent DJ for around $50-$100 dollars depending on how long you want them to spin.

  • Extra Tip: If you hire a DJ, make sure you know what type of equipment they are bringing and what type of equipment you can supply.

You don't have to have a DJ for your party to be successful though. You can use a laptop or iPod or anything you can find that plays music. One major advantage of a laptop over an iPod (unless it is an iTouch) is that you can download songs while the party is going. So if someone requests a song and you don't have it you can download it. Whatever equipment you use to host your party make sure you made a song list beforehand. You don't want to have just random songs playing throughout the party; it can easily disrupt the flow of things. Trust me. All By Myself does not sound good when blasted at high volume. Depending on how long you want the party to last a good number to have is around 60-80 songs on your list. This number also factors in a few songs that will be changed on the fly if the crowd isn't feeling it. Whatever program you’re using to play the music I would recommend using a crossfader. Winamp and iTunes both have them. Crossfade eliminates most of the silence so the songs can seamlessly play on.

So you got your laptop/iPod/DJ and your music playlist all set for the party. What you need now are the speakers. I don't recommend winky dinky 10W computer speakers. If you are going through all this trouble with the music you mind as well take advantage of the songs at the party. You will need good speakers to handle all the song's bass and treble. The size of the speakers will be dependent on the size of the room. Club Banger songs has lots of bass, so get speakers that can handle it. Try to get your hands on tower speakers, subwoofer, and an audio receiver. These will work best for a party setting.

  • Caution tip: You want the speakers to be loud enough so everyone at the party can hear it, but quiet enough so you can barely hear it from the outside. If it is too loud you can get a noise violation and have the neighbors call the cops and shutdown your party. That would be a party foul big time. Just test out the speakers before anyone arrives at the party so you don't have to mess with it later.

These are the basic music tips for the party. If you follow these guidelines you should be on your way on hosting a good party. And since I keep you updated with the latest Club Bangers you shouldn’t ever have a problem with the music selection at your parties ever again.
