Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (36) [October 2013 Edition]

There has been quite a bit of good club bangers for 2013 so far. Although most of the club bangers this year haven't got enough radio play. I guess that could be a good thing, because they always play out every song. I'm still waiting for that one heavy hitter club banger though. Usually every year has that one club banger that is off the hook. There is still three months left. So we'll see how things pan out. Start of October and it's getting a bit colder now. And where I'm at it's raining non-stop. It won't stop us from bumpin' to some crazy club bangers. Here are a few more club bangers I found for y'all. Enjoy.

Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 (Album Review)
Release Date: Sept. 2013

8/10

The combination of Justin Timberlake and Timbaland is something special. The 20/20 Experience Part 2 is catered more to the dance crowd, but still has a classy feel to it. There are some really good songs on here to use as a mash-up. True Blood and Murder are my two favorite songs on this album. They both are high energy and just fun to dance to. Cabaret, TKO, and Take Back The Night are smooth slow hits. Something to relax and drink to. There are some songs on here that I don't really like, but that doesn't detract from the album as a whole. You can't go wrong with the Part 1, Part 2, or the complete album. Justin Timberlake has done it again.

Miley Cyrus - Bangerz* (Album Review)
Release Date: Oct. 2013

8/10

I had my doubts about Miley Cyrus and her craziness. She is definitely getting a lot of attention from everyone and that works in her favor. But is her new album any good? Listening to the album again and again just to make sure I'm not confused. I made up my mind, I give her props to what she's done with this album. It's pretty good. There are some really good club bangers on here. And the songs that aren't club bangers are pretty good too. We Can't Stop, Love Money Party and Do My Thang are the club bangers on this album. Well her next album definitely won't catch me by surprise. Or maybe it will.

Pusha T - My Name Is My Name* (Album Review)
Release Date: Oct. 2013

7/10

The club bangers on this album are Sweet Serenade and Pain. Both are good in its own way. Although there is one song on this album that I absolutely love. 40 Acres. The hook is by The-Dream and Pusha T flows effortlessly on this track. It's such a powerful song that it brought chills down my spine. Overall the album is pretty good. It has a mixture of good beats and good flows.

Recommended for casual playlists.

Andre Nickatina - Andre Nickatina* (Album Review)
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

I haven't heard from Andre Nickatina for awhile now. So it was a surprise to me when I found out he was releasing an album. Jelly and Bonus are the club bangers on this album. Both I think would be good as a mash-up. The rest of his album is pretty good, but nothing really stands out to me. His style of music is still the same so you know what your getting.

Recommended for casual playlists.

Nelly - M.O* (Album Review)
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

Another hip-hop artist that was unexpected; Nelly. He hasn't had an album for such a long time. So I'm glad to hear anything from him. A lot of his songs on this album are more pop/R&B now. There are a few club bangers on here though. Get Like Me, Shake Whatever, and Ciroc & Simply Lemonade. I like Heaven, Headphones, and Mos Focused as well. Not a super strong album from him, but I'm glad to hear from him nonetheless.

Recommended for most playlists.

Kevin Gates - Stranger Than Fiction* (Album Review)
Release Date: July 2013

6/10

I could keep a secret, but we gotta be careful. The only club banger on this album. Smiling Faces and White Tan are my two favorite songs on this album. The other songs aren't as strong. Mostly forgettable. I do like Kevin Gates and hope his next album will be a bit better.

Gary Caos feat. Pitbull & Snow Tha Product - FCK*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

8/10

This is a very catchy upbeat song. It will definitely get people on the dance floor. Pitbull does what he usually does, but Snow Da Product is growing more and more on me. Her flows are just too good. Highly Recommended.

Timmy Titus - All Night*
Release Date: July 2013

7/10

I really like this track from Timmy Titus. It has a good slow banger vibe to it. It would be good as a mash-up too.

DJ Charlotte Devaney feat. Snoop Dogg - Flip It
Release Date: July 2013

6/10

I enjoy this little dance number from DJ Charlotte Devaney. It looks likes Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion is trying to put his hands in every genre. Which is okay in my book. The song is a bit generic, but I don't mind with this one.

Drake - Nothing Was the Same* (Album Review)
Release Date: Sept. 2013

8/10

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with Drake's new album. Most people have already heard Started from the Bottom, Hold on, We're Going Home and All Me. All three are very strong singles. Furthest Things, Wu-Tang Forever and From Time are my other favorites from this album. There a few tracks that I don't really like too much, but overall it is very enjoyable. Drake is still going strong and his album will sell well.

Jason Derulo feat. 2 Chainz - Talk Dirty*
Release Date: Aug. 2013

8/10

This is a spicy number from Jason Derulo. The jazzy beat and hard hitting bass will get everyone on the dance floor. 2 Chainz actually fits the track. This will have people talkin' dirty.

Britney Spears - Work B*tch*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

This song from Britney has potential. I think it would be great as a mash-up with another song. She keeps churning out songs and I give her props for stayin' strong.

Katy Perry feat. Juicy J - Dark Horse
Release Date: Sept. 2013

8/10

The beat is cray on this one. The beat and lyrics fit so well together. I give major props to Katy Perry for this one. We'll see how her album holds up. Juicy J does his thing like usual. Mash-up time.

336 Boyz - My Team*

Driicky Graham - Kool Down*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

This is a track you play when you need to cool down. Actually not really. It's a track where you will need to turn the heat up. Driicky does it again with another club banger.

Recommended for most playlists.

Big Hud & Beeda Weeda feat. Too Short - Hella Turnt*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

When Too Short is on a track you know it's gonna be dirty. You also know that it will probably be on a club banger. And it's a pretty good club banger at that. Too Short does his thing for sure.

Recommended for most playlists.

Maejor Ali feat. Juicy J & Justin Bieber - Lolly*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

7/10

Hmmmm. If the hook wasn't so annoying after awhile I would have given it higher. Justin Bieber tryin' to crack onto the hip-hop scene is odd, but it isn't a bad transition as I thought it would be. Still a club banger and Juicy J does his thing again.

Recommended for most playlists.

Kid Ink feat. Chris Brown - Show Me*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

8/10

This is a hot slow banger. I've always liked Kid Ink and he doesn't disappoint here. Teaming up with Chris Brown makes this track even hotter.

Recommended for most playlists.

Crime Mob - Call It Like You Wanna*
Release Date: Sept. 2013

6/10

I haven't heard from Crime Mob in a minute. This track has the same kind of vibe as Knuck If You Buck. I think it would be good as a mash-up or if you want to start a riot.

Recommended for some playlists.

Rayven Justice feat. Keak Da Sneak & Philthy Rich - Slide Thru*
Release Date: July 2013

6/10

This track has a pre-funk vibe to it. I enjoy it, but I think it would be better as a mash-up. It definitely has a bay area feel to it.

Recommended for most playlists.

Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - Live It Up
Release Date: May 2013

6/10

A bit disappointing track from Jennifer Lopez. It isn't as strong as her previous dance hits, but I guess it could be still used a mash-up. Pitbull doesn't add anything to this either. Mediocre at best.

 Recommended for casual playlists.

Ty Dolla $ign feat. B.o.B - Paranoid*

It has been over a year since I've updated this blog. It feels like it's been forever since the last time I was on here. Even though I haven't been reviewing tracks I have been keeping up with the latest hits. There is just way too many to review, but I'll try my best to at least review the betters ones.

I can't believe the summer hits on the radio is so bad. Last year (2012) was so much better. Luckily the club scene still has bangers to dance to. Good ones at that too. R&B is also looking to make a comeback and I hope it does. Too much pop music for my taste.

I have updated a few things on my blog. I created a twitter account. Follow me @Music2URearZ. This is where I'll be posting my latest info on updates and anything involving music. I've also added an iTunes playlist on the right side of the page. Every time I post a review I will also update the playlist. So you can sample the song or album and then buy it off of iTunes if you like. If some of you don't see the playlist, I recommend disabling Adblock just for this page.

I've added Google Wallet as well. If you want to support and donate you are more then welcome to do so.

Since there are so many tracks to review I'm going to do an overall club banger rating. The rating will change to a maximum of 10.

I think that about wraps it up. Now on to the stuff you wanted to hear. Club bangers, slow bangers, and bangers in general. Last of the summer month so stock up and dance the night away.

Miguel feat. Kendrick Lamar - How Many Drinks? (Remix)*
Release Date: April 2013

7/10

Miguel. Miguel. One of the upcoming artists that is getting recognition from all around the music industry. He and a handful of other artists are bringing back the smooth R&B. I classify this as a slow banger. This will get everyone in the mood to dance... slowly... It is a great track for those moments where you just need to cool down from twerking or what other dance move you could pull off. Kendrick Lamar really complements this track too.

B.o.B feat. 2 Chainz - Headband*
Release Date: May 2013

7/10

B.o.B is doin' his thing in this fun track. I feel at least one club banger has to have whistling in it. And this one does it right. 2 Chainz features in this one, but he doesn't really add anything. Download and whistle along.

The-Dream feat. Jay-Z - High Art*
Release Date: May 2013

7/10

What can I say about The-Dream that I haven't said before. He's been around the game for awhile now. And he is one of the R&B artists that is pretty consistent. This track could be great as a mash-up or added to the list as a slower banger. Jay-Z is great here and adds oomph to the track.

2 Chainz feat. Wiz Khalifa - We Own It
Release Date: May 2013

7/10

This track is from the Fast & Furious 6 album. It is more to hype you up before the clubs. Dang it hypes you up though. It's fast... It's furious... No pun intended. 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa did a great collaboration on this track.

Major Lazer feat. Bruno Mars, Tyga & Mystic - Bubble Butt*
Release Date: June 2013

8/10

Bubble. Buuubble butt. Buuuubbble butt. I think you'll get the hang of the track once you listen to it. It's pretty contagious and a fun track to dance to. It's definitely a club banger. Tyga goes hard on this one.

Twista feat. R. Kelly - Throwin My Money*
Release Date: May 2013

7/10

Twista featuring R. Kelly. Enough said. R. Kelly the reigning king of R&B. Twista the old school flow machine. Great combination. Great slow banger.

Fabolous feat. Chris Brown - Ready*
Release Date: Jan. 2013

7/10

This is a great last track on your playlist. It sets the mood perfectly for the after party. If you know what I mean. The slow bangers just keep coming. Chris Brown with his smooth vocals and Fabolous layin' down the track.

Flo Rida feat. Future - Tell Me When You Ready
Release Date: May 2013

6/10

I really like this track. But it could be so much better. I'm not sure Future was a great match for this track. He reminds me of T-Pain with his autotune. Flo Rida always does his thing as far as club bangers go. Great beat though.

Hip-Hop|Club Banger Reviews (29) [May 2012 Edition]

I can't believe it's already May. The weather is finally heating up where I'm at and summer is just around the corner. I haven't updated for a couple of months now which I feel really bad about. I was without a good working computer for awhile. My laptop which I usually update on had some major issues with it. I had to just finally get rid of it. Electronics is a love/hate relationship with me.

There has been quite a bit of music that have been hittin' the scene since my absence though. So that gives me something to update about. So I hope to give you guys/gals something to dance to.

I have been putting mixes together for all of you on the right side of my page. If you click on the top or bottom links of the mixes it will bring you to 8tracks.com. It is a great website to make your own unique mix and share it with everyone else for free. I'm also using Spotify to create some of my playlists as well. If you have an account with them too, then let me know and I can share my playlists with you.

Let's get on to what y'all been really craving for. Club music that will give you a real "eargasm".

Tydolla$ign feat. Joe Moses - All Star ~ 96 bpm*
Release Date: May 2011

Club/Party - 4.5/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 4/5

This club banger is off the hook. They use the Swedish House Mafia track and fuse it with Tydolla$ign's flows. Great mix. This track will definitely get people dancin' and it will start off the night right. This is a gift to the DJ's out there.

Problem feat. Tydolla$ign - Double Dip ~ 95 bpm*
Release Date: Aug. 2011

icon icon

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3.5/5

Now this is what you call a slow banger. The right amount of swag and the beat is just right. Problem and Ty$ both do their thing on the track. Great by itself or as a remix. Put this one on your playlist.

Bei Maejor feat. Waka Flocka Flame - Lights Down Low ~ 155 bpm*
Release Date: March 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3.5/5

I would have given it a .5 higher if it wasn't for Waka Flocka Flame. His flows don't match the track that he's on. If it was just Bei Maejor, then it would have been better. Not taking anything from this track though. It's still really good and it definitely needs to be on your playlist. Good stuff.

Billy Wes - Shake That Jelly ~ 80 bpm*
Release Date: March 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 2.5/5

The track that I linked to you doesn't have Tyga in it. With or without him the song is mediocre. I've heard both versions and Tyga doesn't really add anything. I think Billy Wes could have done a lot better than this. But it is what it is. I would suggest a remix of this or a mash up.

Play-N-Skillz feat. Pitbull - Richest Man ~ 128 bpm*
Release Date: March 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 2.5/5
Lastability - 3/5

This song is what I call High Energy R&B (HNRG R&B). Very catchy and just a fun song in general. Pitbull is in almost every dance song so it's not surprising anymore. It's more surprising if he's not in it. Great pre-summer hit and it's only getting hotter.

Dev feat. Enrique Iglesias - Naked ~ 125 bpm
Release Date: March 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 5/5
Lastability - 3/5

What a great duo for this song. Dev an up and coming artist who has a few dance hits already. And an veteran artist whose made multiple dance hits in his career. This song oozes sexiness and it deserves to be on your playlist. Smooth vocals from both of them and a great sloooow banger.

The Cataracs feat. Waka Flocka Flame & Kaskade - All You ~ 128 bpm*
Release Date: March 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 4/5
The Ladies - 2/5
Lastability - 4/5

This is definitely a fusion of trance, dance, and hip-hop. It's definitely an odd mix if you think about it. But it actually works. Thanks to The Cataracs and their skills at mixing songs and you got a hit on your hands. Kaskade and The Cataracs is such a great fusion together. Again the only complaint I have is of Waka Flocka Flame. He just doesn't mix in some songs and this is one of them. He seems really out of place in this one. Definite download if you can handle WFF.

Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Let's Go ~ 129 bpm
Release Date: April 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 3.5/5
The Ladies - 4/5
Lastability - 3.5/5

Decent mix from Calvin Harris. Earlier it was Rihanna and now it is Ne-Yo's turn. Not as good as "We Found Love", but it holds its own. Nothing too much to say about this song. Download if you like Calvin Harris or Ne-Yo.

Flo Rida - Whistle - 107 bpm
Release Date: April 2012

icon icon

Club/Party - 3/5
The Ladies - 1/5
Lastability - 3/5

This is a pretty catchy song from Flo Rida. It's a bit different than his usual stuff. It's not really a club banger, but I can definitely see this as a remix or a mash up. Leave it to Flo Rida to come up with something that everyone will listen to again. Great pre-summer song.

Mike Jones feat. Hurricane Chris - Drop & Gimme 50 ~ 90 bpm*

This is just a nice club banger from Mike Jones. This is when he was semi-popular. Hurricane Chris is featuring in this one. And he does what he has to do to make this poppin'.

Release Date: Feb. 21, 2012

Album Review

4/5

Even though I gave this album a 4/5 I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. The album has some good tracks on here, but I expected a little bit more from Tyga. I would have rather had quality than quantity of tracks. Overall he has 23 tracks on his album. Actually more like 20 tracks and 3 interludes. If he just focused on maybe 15 tracks I would have been all for it. Right now "Faded" and "Rack City" are the most played tracks on the radio. He has other good tracks like "Far Away" and my favorite "Love Game". Those two tracks show more of his talents. Overall I still recommend this album to any hip-hop fans.

Album Review

4/5

I've always liked Chiddy Bang. The first time I heard their style of hip-hop I added them on my "artists to watch" list right away. They definitely have a unique style and that is what's special about them. They fuse a few genres together and make their tracks just plain fun to listen to. There are a few tracks that I thought could have stronger production, but otherwise you won't be disappointed in the download.

One word to describe this album, "refreshing". I can't really pin it, but something about his music is relaxing, fun, and just a treat to listen to. This is a really laid back album and it's great to just sit back, grab a drink, and relax to the soothing of this music. Definite download.

Odd Future - The OF Tape, Vol. 2 (Album)*

Album Review

3.5/5

I'm not a huge Odd Future fan as other people are. But I give respect to where respect is due. This is album isn't too bad, but I think the album could have been better. You can tell that if Tyler, The Creator was not in this crew, then this would be a below average album at best. I think the other standouts in this crew are Frank Ocean and Syd. I know they are trying to go for a different style and do whatever they want kind of attitude. But sometimes it's just all over the place and a bit too much. That also includes the production. It needs to be cleaned up a bit. The tracks I do recommend though are pretty good and shows the potential of what they can do.

A whopping 60 tracks if you buy the full album. That is insane especially at his age. His album still has great bay area production beats and crazy flows. There is tracks for everyone here. Club bangers, hyphy, cruisin', motivational, and west coast hip-hop tracks. Recommended for hours and hours of  hip-hop music.

Album Review

3/5

I have to say that this is so far the most disappointing anticipated album of the year. I had high hopes for this album. I think she should have done two separate albums. One with just hip-hop tracks and one with just pop/dance tracks. Having both doesn't fit. None of her tracks are very strong, because of it. It's a decent album and I hope she figures out who she is for the next album.

This album only contains five tracks. But four out of those five tracks are off the hook. Big K.R.I.T. really shows off his talents in this album. If your a true hip-hop/rap fan, then this is highly recommended. I can't wait to hear more from him.

Album Review

5/5

Amazing. Even though I knew his album was going to be great, I wasn't anticipating that this was going to blow my socks off. Almost every track on this album have been well produced and he's an amazing lyricist. Very inspirational album and he shows that he can work with any artist. Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, T.I., Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, and even Morgan Freeman?!?! Yes, you heard that right. The actor Morgan Freeman. He doesn't sing or anything. He just talks in his awesome voice. Good enough for me. Highly recommended. Best album so far this year.
